Maravilha man arrested for suspected feminicide

A 53-year-old man has been placed in preventive detention following the suspected feminicide of his 48-year-old partner in Maravilha, Santa Catarina. The victim was found severely injured inside a Fiat Siena near the BR-282 highway on Sunday night.

Preliminary investigations by the Civil Police indicate the woman suffered grave facial injuries caused by being struck with stones. Surveillance footage from the vicinity reportedly shows a man approaching the vehicle and subsequently assaulting the victim.

Emergency services, including the Fire Department and SAMU, transported the woman to Hospital São José, where she passed away shortly after arrival. The Public Ministry of Santa Catarina requested the arrest to ensure public order and the integrity of the criminal investigation.
