Marbella council to name street after ultra‑right rally leader Pedro Rodríguez
Local constructor Pedro Rodríguez Castillo, known for luxury housing projects in Marbella, led an ultra‑right demonstration on the seafront that called for Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's resignation. The march, organized by the platform Sociedad Civil Española, featured around 200 participants, including Vox councilors and former Ciudadanos deputy Marcos de Quinto, and displayed banners and chants demanding Sánchez’s resignation and imprisonment.
The Marbella City Council subsequently approved a proposal to rename a major avenue in the Lomas de Río Verde urbanisation after Rodríguez. The proposal, backed by his brother Carlos Alberto Rodríguez Castillo and supported by council members, moves forward in a plenary session scheduled for 31 July. The street would run from boulevard Rey Fahd to the Istán road, linking areas where Rodríguez’s recent developments, such as the Dolce&Gabbana urbanisation, are located.
