Marbella elderly residence faces capacity deficit

The new Trapiche del Prado elderly residence in Marbella is facing criticism for its limited capacity. Despite an investment exceeding 9 million euros, the facility will only offer 72 places, consisting of 44 rooms (28 double and 16 single).

A municipal feasibility study indicates that this capacity is insufficient to meet local demand. The report suggests Marbella requires approximately 1,111 places to meet national coverage averages, but currently only has a verified minimum of 506 places in private residences. This leaves a deficit of 605 places, a gap that the new facility will only marginally reduce.
