Marbella homicide: Man confesses to fatal stabbing of partner

A 59-year-old man, identified as Juan Carlos, has confessed to the fatal stabbing of his partner, Franyel, in San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella. The victim, a 35-year-old Venezuelan woman in transition, was found dead in a residence on Castilla Street following a citizen alert.

According to the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía (TSJA), the couple had filed mutual complaints for alleged aggression just one week prior to the homicide. However, during previous proceedings, neither party chose to ratify the complaints, leading to the dismissal of those urgent inquiries.

Legal authorities noted that the suspect will be processed through an ordinary instruction court rather than a specialized gender violence court. This decision stems from the fact that the victim had not yet been officially registered as such in the Civil Registry. The National Police are leading the ongoing investigation.
