Marbella lifeguards perform over 5,800 beach interventions in August

Lifeguard and first-aid teams in Marbella conducted 5,834 interventions on local beaches during August. According to figures released by Councillor Diego López, the majority of these actions were preventative in nature.

Of the total operations, 3,701 were related to rescue efforts. This included 1,684 general safety warnings and over 1,700 interventions involving yellow and red flags. While 42 water rescues were performed, 41 were classified as minor and one as moderate, with no serious incidents reported. The service also assisted in 20 cases involving missing children or vulnerable individuals.

Medical personnel treated 799 healthcare cases, primarily involving injuries, burns, and jellyfish stings. Additionally, the service carried out 1,136 actions related to municipal by-law enforcement, including warnings regarding dogs on beaches and illegal fishing.
