Marbella requests reopening of A-7 highway access to Golden Beach
The Marbella City Council has formally requested the Spanish central government to temporarily reopen access points from the A-7 highway to the Golden Beach area in Las Chapas. The request was sent to the State Road Demarcation of Eastern Andalusia, which operates under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
The local government argues that the current closure of links between kilometer points 190+700 and 191+500 occurred prematurely, before alternative entry and exit routes were fully prepared to handle traffic. Officials stated that the closure is causing significant inconvenience to residents and is displacing traffic to other areas within the municipality.
Furthermore, the Council warned of potential road safety risks due to insufficient signage regarding the closures and available alternative routes. While the municipality supports the long-term reorganization of access points to improve mobility, it maintains that these works must be synchronized with the actual readiness of alternative paths to ensure resident accessibility and driver safety.
