Marburg construction training center to undergo major modernization

The construction industry training center in Marburg is set to undergo a comprehensive modernization to meet contemporary vocational training standards. The Darmstadt-based architecture and planning firm GGP has been commissioned to manage the overall object planning, which includes fire protection measures.

Managed by the association Verein Zukunft Bauen e. V., the facility in Afföllerstraße has been in operation since 1984. The 8,500-square-meter site provides training for various trades, including structural engineering, interior finishing, civil engineering, and roofing. The center serves a catchment area including the districts of Marburg-Biedenkopf, Schwalm-Eder, Lahn-Dill, and Gießen.

The planned upgrades will focus on technical, energetic, and functional improvements. Key objectives include enhancing energy efficiency, fire safety, accessibility, and room acoustics to ensure the facility remains a sustainable and effective learning environment for the future.
