Marc Coucke to launch Woyo Beach in Knokke-Heist

Entrepreneur Marc Coucke is expanding his coastal activities with the launch of Woyo Beach, a new beach bar concept in the Zoute area of Knokke-Heist. The concession is set to begin on January 1, 2027, and is initially secured until the end of 2035. Coucke is participating in the project as a shareholder alongside local young entrepreneurs.

The decision to award the concession is part of a broader redistribution of 25 beach bar concessions in the municipality. While 18 existing bars retained their spots, six established names will lose their locations. This reshuffle has sparked significant local controversy and public outcry on social media, with residents and business owners criticizing the municipal government for the loss of long-standing establishments. The municipality stated that the new procedure was necessary to comply with European, federal, and Flemish competition regulations.
