Marc Giró files legal complaint over death threats and hate speech

Spanish journalist and presenter Marc Giró has filed a formal legal complaint following a wave of severe death threats and homophobic insults received on social media. The harassment follows Giró’s recent televised monologues regarding the humanitarian crisis in Ceuta.

During a segment on his program ‘Cara al Show’ on laSexta, Giró exposed several violent messages. One particularly grave threat included explicit warnings of physical violence, specifically mentioning the use of a stainless steel bar to cause injury. The legal complaint includes charges for death threats, threats of physical injury, and hate crimes, the latter being linked to homophobic insults directed at the presenter.

In addition to the violent threats, Giró addressed various forms of digital harassment, including political insults and derogatory comments, which he addressed during his broadcast.
