Marc Marquez receives National Sports Award amid MotoGP title race

Spanish motorcycle racer Marc Marquez has been awarded the 2025 National Sports Award (Premio Nacional del Deporte) by the Consejo Superior de Deportes. The recognition honors his professional dedication and resilience in overcoming significant injuries, including multiple shoulder surgeries and vision issues, to secure his ninth Grand Prix world title.

As the MotoGP season approaches its final stages, Marquez remains in a tight championship battle. He currently sits in second place in the standings with 353 points, trailing leader Jorge Martin by only two points.

The competition has intensified due to strategic advantages held by rival manufacturers. While Aprilia Racing possesses multiple riders in the top three, Marquez faces a challenge in securing his tenth title as he lacks similar tactical support from his own team to counter the technical and strategic strength of his competitors.
