Marc Marquez secures 100th MotoGP win as Hungarian Grand Prix marred by start crash
Spanish rider Marc Marquez won the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Balaton Park circuit, marking his 100th victory in the MotoGP class and the 100th win for Ducati in the premier category. Starting from pole, Marquez held off a strong challenge from fellow Spaniard Pedro Acosta to finish first, with Marco Bezzecchi taking third. The race began with a dramatic incident in the first turn: Aprilia riders Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzecchi and others collided, forcing Martin and Bezzecchi into the medical centre. Only Fabio Di Janantonio was able to re‑join the race. The incident is under investigation. Marquez’s milestone adds to his eight world titles and strengthens his lead in the championship standings.
