Marc Marquez wins MotoGP Hungary 2026 as Jorge Martin receives penalty for crash

Spanish rider Marc Marquez secured victory at the MotoGP Hungary 2026 round held at the Balaton Park circuit, marking his first win since September 2025 and a comeback after injury. Ducati representative Davide Tardozzi said the win was a surprise and a sign of Marquez's renewed competitiveness.

In the same race, Aprilia rider Jorge Martin was held responsible for a chain‑reaction crash at the first turn, which involved teammates and fellow competitors Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Fermin Aldeguer and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Martin was handed a double long‑lap penalty, and Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola said a harsher sanction could still be justified given the safety concerns.
