Márquez noted that his mother often prefers to watch races from home on television rather than attending in person due to the anxiety caused by his frequent and severe crashes.

Throughout his career, Márquez has sustained numerous injuries, including multiple fractures and medical complications that have required surgical intervention, such as the use of plates and screws in his shoulder. He shared that his mother has previously urged him to retire, expressing the deep distress caused by witnessing the physical risks he takes on the track.
