Marc Márquez extends Ducati contract to 2028, reshaping MotoGP rider market

Spanish MotoGP champion Marc Márquez has signed a new deal with Ducati that runs through the 2028 season. Márquez said the team "respected my times and sensations," confirming his continued partnership with the Italian manufacturer.

The renewal comes ahead of the 2027 MotoGP season, where most grid spots already have identified riders. Márquez’s extension has intensified speculation around other top riders, including Jorge Martín, Fabio Quartararo, and rising stars such as Pedro Acosta, as teams adjust their line‑ups for the upcoming 850 cc era and new Pirelli tyre regulations.
