Marc Márquez reveals extent of arm injuries to end speculation

MotoGP rider Marc Márquez has addressed ongoing speculation regarding his physical condition by opting for total transparency. Following his success at the Aragon GP, the nine-time world champion shared a photograph on social media highlighting the significant muscle loss and scarring on his right arm and shoulder, a result of repeated injuries and surgeries dating back to 2020.

Márquez stated that he chose this approach to end repetitive questioning and rumors that consume his energy. He noted, “The best way to end the questions is to try to be honest. I showed my real situation, my doctor spoke about what they did and the effects of the injury.”

Márquez’s surgeon, Samuel Antuña, confirmed the severity of the condition, noting that the rider has lost significant bicep strength. Antuña described the current state of the right arm as effectively riding with “one and a half arms.” Despite these physical limitations, Márquez emphasized his commitment to competing for the championship and his desire to focus on racing with Ducati rather than discussing his medical history.
