Marc Márquez surpasses Dani Pedrosa in MotoGP career starts
MotoGP rider Marc Márquez has reached a new career milestone, surpassing Dani Pedrosa to move into fifth place on the all-time list for most Grand Prix starts in the premier class. Márquez has now competed in 221 races, overtaking Pedrosa’s career total of 220.
Márquez joins an elite group of riders in this ranking, trailing Valentino Rossi, Aleix Espargaró, Andrea Dovizioso, and Álex Barros. Rossi continues to lead the list with 432 starts.
Looking ahead to the Indonesian Grand Prix at the Mandalika circuit, Márquez faces a challenging track that may favor Aprilia motorcycles. Despite the technical difficulties posed by the circuit, Márquez stated his goal is to maximize points and stay competitive in his championship pursuit. Ducati team director Davide Tardozzi noted that losing 10 to 12 points at this venue could be considered an honorable result.
