Marc Márquez clinches 100th MotoGP victory at Hungarian Grand Prix
Marc Márquez won the Hungarian MotoGP at Balaton Park, securing his 100th Grand Prix victory across all classes and Ducati’s 100th win. Starting from pole, the Spanish rider fought a close duel with KTM’s Pedro Acosta before pulling ahead on lap 14 to finish 1.3 seconds clear, with Francesco Bagnaia third.
The weekend also featured a dramatic first‑lap multi‑rider crash. Jorge Martín lost control on the opening corner, colliding with his teammate Marco Bezzecchi and taking out Aprilia riders Fabio Di Giannantonio, Raúl Fernández and others. The incident eliminated several title contenders and prompted Aprilia’s team manager to label the mistake “inexcusable.”
In the sprint race on Saturday, Márquez also claimed victory, leading from the start and beating Acosta and Bezzecchi, who completed the podium. The results tightened the championship battle, with Bezzecchi extending his lead in the standings.
