Marc Márquez's post‑surgery resurgence noted by Jorge Lorenzo

Former MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo said that Marc Márquez’s shoulder operation in May has dramatically changed his season. Since the surgery the Spanish rider has won three of the last four Grand Prix, cutting his points deficit to the championship leader from 102 to 18 points. Lorenzo noted that while Márquez is back to contesting wins, he still needs time to regain full fitness.

Lorenzo also argued that, had Márquez avoided his 2020 crash and ridden a competitive bike, he could have amassed 12‑13 world titles, potentially matching Giacomo Agostini. He was quoted saying, “Sans cette blessure en 2020 et avec une moto à égalité avec ses rivaux, il aurait remporté tous les championnats du monde, et maintenant il en serait à 12 ou 13 titres mondiaux.”
