Marc Márquez's surgeon reveals right arm is at 50% strength

Marc Márquez’s surgeon, Dr. Samuel Antuña, has revealed that the MotoGP rider’s right arm is currently operating at approximately 50% of its capacity. The physical limitations stem from a complex shoulder fracture sustained during a collision at the Indonesian Grand Prix, an injury that has required seven surgeries throughout the rider's career.

Dr. Antuña noted that while Márquez has managed to win four Grand Prix races since undergoing surgery in May to address a nerve issue caused by internal metalwork, his physical condition remains significantly weaker than in previous years. The surgeon explained that while the rider maintains strong muscle groups like the latissimus dorsi, the arm is mechanically compromised, specifically regarding strength in the biceps.

The nerve issues experienced earlier in the 2026 season caused sudden loss of sensation, which contributed to several crashes. Although the nerve problem has been resolved, Márquez must now approach race weekends with increased caution to preserve the remaining strength in his right arm.
