Porsche unveils Flachbau RS, a unique one-off 911 GT2 RS
Porsche has unveiled the Flachbau RS, a unique one-off vehicle developed through its Sonderwunsch (special wishes) department. Unveiled at Monterey Car Week, the car was commissioned by a single client and took approximately three years to develop in collaboration with Manthey, Style Porsche, Weissach, and Porsche Motorsport.
The vehicle is based on a 2018 911 GT2 RS with the Weissach package. While the 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer engine remains unchanged, producing 700 hp and 750 Nm, the car has achieved a weight reduction of 31.6 kg by removing the infotainment, audio system, and sound insulation.
Design-wise, the Flachbau RS is a modern homage to the legendary 935/78 “Moby Dick” and the historic “slant nose” style. It features a completely redesigned front end with low-profile LED headlights, new fenders with air louvers, and a custom splitter. The rear is equipped with a large wing inspired by the 911 GT3 R Rennsport, which generates 554 kg of downforce at 340 km/h. Despite its radical racing-inspired aesthetics, the car remains fully road-legal.
