Marc Riboud retrospective exhibition opens in Caraglio

A major retrospective titled ‘Marc Riboud. Verso il mondo’ is being hosted at Il Filatoio di Caraglio in Italy. Running from October 22, 2026, to March 29, 2027, the exhibition features 180 photographs and documents from the career of the late French photographer Marc Riboud (1923–2016).

The collection spans over fifty years of global travel, covering Riboud’s work in Europe and Asia, including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Notably, the exhibition highlights his access to China during the late 1950s and his return in 1965 on the eve of the Cultural Revolution.

While not strictly a news reporter, Riboud’s work captured significant historical shifts, such as the Vietnam War, Algerian independence, and the Iranian Revolution. His photographic style focused on the human impact and the consequences of major events rather than explicit depictions of violence.
