Marcel Gieling to permanently close art business

Marcel Gieling is permanently closing his online art business after a long career in the art trade. Having previously operated a physical gallery in Utrecht for twenty-five years, Gieling transitioned to online sales in 2016.

His family has a deep history in the Utrecht city center, with his father, grandfather, and uncle all serving as antiquarians. Gieling specialized in affordable ‘small masters’ of Dutch painting and maintained strong ties to the Utrecht art scene through various publications and books.

A final sale exhibition will be held from October 23 to 25 at a residence designed by Gerrit Rietveld on Erasmuslaan 9. The event will feature works from his collection and includes some chairs from the host's collection.
