Marcel Rapp sets goals for FC St. Pauli after first training session

New FC St. Pauli head coach Marcel Rapp held the club’s first training of the season on Thursday, ending the summer break. He said the weather was good and all players were fit, expressing satisfaction with the session.

Rapp outlined what he called the two "cool goals" for the team in the 2. Bundesliga: avoiding relegation and pushing for promotion. He stressed that a strong work ethic and team spirit are needed first, and that the "old baggage" from last season is now behind them.

He noted that the squad will consist of about 23 players, with several on international duty at the World Cup and a few absent for personal reasons. Rapp said the club will address remaining gaps in the roster early, but that recruitment takes time. He also praised his coaching staff, describing the atmosphere as positive and energetic.
