Marcel Reguła nears record transfer to Burnley FC

Marcel Reguła, a 19-year-old offensive midfielder for Zagłębie Lubin, is nearing a transfer to English Championship side Burnley FC. Negotiations are reportedly in advanced stages, with the potential deal set to become a historic record for the Polish club.

Zagłębie Lubin President Paweł Jeż confirmed that discussions are ongoing regarding financial terms. While several clubs, including Borussia Dortmund and FC Köln, have shown interest, Burnley has been the most proactive, with an offer submitted several weeks ago. Reports indicate the transfer fee could reach approximately 8 million euros (over 34 million PLN), which would surpass the club's previous record sale of Bartosz Białek to Wolfsburg for 5 million euros.

The final decision rests with the player and his representatives as they evaluate the move to the English second tier.
