Marcel Wontorra appointed Managing Director of Frauen-Bundesliga GmbH

Marcel Wontorra has been unanimously selected by the Frauen-Bundesliga (FBL) presidency and club representatives to serve as the Managing Director of the upcoming Frauen-Bundesliga GmbH. Wontorra, 35, currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the sports streaming platform Dyn Sport.

His appointment is central to the establishment of the league's operational organization. Starting July 1, 2027, the FBL e. V. will take over responsibility from the German Football Association (DFB) for the organization, execution, and marketing of the Frauen-Bundesliga.

FBL President Katharina Kiel described Wontorra as a sports and media manager who combines strategic clarity with commercial competence. Wontorra stated that his goals include expanding the league's media and digital reach to increase attractiveness for fans, players, and sponsorship partners.
