Marcela Acuña Returns to Law Studies After Boxing Retirement

Former Argentine boxing champion Marcela "La Tigresa" Acuña, who retired from professional boxing in March 2025, has shifted her focus to new pursuits. In an interview on the TV program Otro día perdido with Mario Pergolini, the 49‑year‑old said she is now a sports coach, a sports‑journalism graduate and a law student, confirming, "Estoy estudiando Derecho, sí." She ruled out any return to the ring, noting she does not want to feel the temptation to compete again.

Acuña also highlighted her earlier activities: participation in MasterChef Celebrity (2021), a film debut in La mujer de la fila, and a political career as a councilor for Tres de Febrero, first elected with the Frente para la Victoria in 2009 and later joining Sergio Massa’s bloc. She describes herself as an "atypical grandmother" who does cross‑fit and weight training.
