Marcellus Campêlo proposes sanitation and climate reforms in Amazonas
Marcellus Campêlo, a candidate for state deputy in Amazonas, has proposed an agenda focused on expanding basic sanitation and environmental protection. During a meeting with sanitation and environmental professionals, Campêlo emphasized the need to eliminate open-air landfills in the state's interior to protect public health and the environment.
His proposals include expanding access to treated water, sewage networks, drainage, and waste collection and treatment. Campêlo intends to advocate for state support for municipalities through technical and financial assistance, including the use of parliamentary amendments. Additionally, he aims to prepare the state for climate change by supporting municipalities in developing projects to mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events, such as floods and droughts.
