Marcelo and Snoop Dogg linked to FC Nantes acquisition

Former Real Madrid player Marcelo and American rapper Snoop Dogg are reportedly involved in a project to acquire the French football club FC Nantes. The negotiations are being led by Phenix Sports Invest, represented by intermediary Paulo Tavares.

The deal, which has a commitment to sell signed by the Kita family, is valued at an initial amount of approximately 125 million euros (roughly 732 to 780 million reais), with potential increases depending on the club's performance in returning to the first division by 2027. The project aims to modernize the La Beaujoire stadium and the Jonelière training center, while also investing in the squad, sponsorships, and merchandising.

Under the proposed structure, Marcelo would serve as an ambassador to enhance the club's international profile, while Snoop Dogg is intended to sponsor a future club museum. The transaction still requires approval from the DNCG, the body responsible for monitoring the accounts of French football clubs. If no obstacles arise, the deal could be finalized between late October and early November.
