Marcelo González Del Río wins José Chudnovsky literary prize

Marcelo González Del Río has won the first prize in the novel category of the 2026 “José Chudnovsky” Provincial Literature Contest. His winning work is titled ‘La novela del Ganso’. The competition was organized by the Instituto de Cultura del Chaco (ICCH).

González Del Río, a writer, poet, psychologist, and university professor originally from Corrientes and currently residing in Resistencia, is a recognized figure in the literature of Northeast Argentina. His previous works include ‘Escribir por si acaso’, ‘Escritor de poesía’, and ‘Heredero del fuego’.

The jury, composed of writers Marina Coronel, Gregoria Leiva, and Mario Doldán, praised the work for its creativity, character construction, and ability to address contemporary issues through regional cultural references. The award ceremony will take place during the Ibero-American Book Fair (FIL) at the Domo del Centenario in Resistencia from October 1 to 11.
