Phone recordings and travel evidence contradict his statements, showing that on the alleged testimony date he was moving through Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil, using private aircraft to avoid detection.

Media outlets linked to Lasso, including El Chino EC, El Chochólogo, Radio Pichincha and La Posta, promoted the narrative that he was in the United States to shield the alleged intellectual authors of Villavicencio’s murder. Audios Lasso sent to his girlfriend detail the logistics, noting that “in Brazil it is all by plane, by small plane, to avoid commercial flights.” The revelations suggest a coordinated effort to fabricate a protective U.S. presence and mislead investigators.
