Marcelo Pelleriti faces legal dispute with Bodega Monteviejo
Enologist Marcelo Pelleriti is involved in a legal dispute with Bodega Monteviejo that extends beyond commercial interests. According to Pelleriti’s representatives, the conflict began when Monteviejo proposed acquiring 100% of his brand in exchange for a minority stake, a proposal Pelleriti rejected to protect his professional legacy. The dispute also involves the use of Pelleriti’s name on wines over which he claims to have no longer had control or involvement.
Following the separation, Pelleriti has launched a new viticultural project, Pelleriti Priore, in partnership with Miguel Priore. Based in the Valle de Uco, the project focuses on expressing the identity of specific vineyard parcels. The venture, which builds on over fifteen years of collaboration, currently produces approximately 40,000 cases annually and is distributed in more than 40 markets.
