Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa conducts educational sessions in Portuguese schools
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has conducted educational sessions for students in Tabuaço and Almodôvar as part of initiatives focused on reading, communication, and vocation.
In Tabuaço, at the Agrupamento de Escolas Abel Botelho, the session titled ‘Education, Vocation, Future’ allowed students to reflect on their life projects. The meeting included a review of historical documents, such as the Diaries of the Constituent Assembly, connecting the memory of Portugal’s 1976 democratic construction with younger generations.
In Almodôvar, at the Escola Básica e Secundária Dr. João de Brito Camacho, the discussion focused on the evolution of communication, titled ‘From stone to screen: how we read, write and communicate?’. This session, part of the ‘Reading is in Fashion?’ cycle in partnership with the School Library Network (RBE), explored the relationship between the historical ‘Southwest Writing’ heritage and modern communication. The event included cultural performances and a visit to the Southwest Writing Museum (MESA).
