Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to receive La Toja Forum award

Former Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has been awarded the annual Josep Piqué Prize from the La Toja Forum. The award, which recognizes individuals for their contributions to representative democracy and the Atlantic bond, is scheduled to be presented by King Felipe VI of Spain on October 1.

The eighth edition of the La Toja Forum will take place from October 1 to 3 under the theme ‘A world in disorder’. The event is expected to address critical contemporary issues, including the challenges of Artificial Intelligence and the relationship between Morocco and Spain.

Organizers noted that the forum continues to defend democratic values and political moderation. The upcoming meeting will feature various political leaders, business figures, and thinkers to discuss global stability and economic challenges.
