Marche and Umbria earthquake reconstruction deadlines extended

The coordination cabinet has issued a new ordinance extending the deadlines for private reconstruction following the seismic events of November 9, 2022, in Marche and March 9, 2023, in Umbria.

Under the new measures, the deadline for interested parties to submit requests for reconstruction contributions via the Ge. Di. Si. platform has been extended from December 31, 2026, to December 31, 2027. Additionally, the deadline for filing contracts with professionals in charge of project design has been moved from September 30 to December 31, 2026, for cases where the primary contribution request has not yet been submitted.

Extraordinary Reconstruction Commissioner Guido Castelli stated that the extension aims to provide citizens and professionals more time to complete the necessary steps for application, thereby supporting the completion of the reconstruction process. The decision follows the extension of the commissarial management for the 2016 earthquake reconstruction until 2029, allowing for a broader temporal horizon for the recovery efforts in Ancona and Umbertide.
