Marche region announces new funding for audiovisual productions

The Marche region in Italy is launching a new call for audiovisual productions to sustain its growing film industry. Andrea Agostini, president of Fondazione Marche Cultura, announced a fund of between 800,000 and 900,000 euros, sourced from previously unspent resources.

The regional film sector has seen significant growth, hosting over 130 sets in the last three years and attracting 16 million euros in investment during the preceding four-year period. This activity provides a substantial economic multiplier, with estimates suggesting every euro invested in local cinema returns at least three euros to the regional economy through services such as hospitality, transport, and local craftsmanship.

Despite this momentum, industry representatives are calling for stable policies to prevent the sector from becoming a temporary phenomenon. Alessandro Tarabelli, president of CNA Cinema and Audiovisual Marche, emphasized the need to treat film not merely as a tourism promotion tool, but as a legitimate cultural industry and a professionalized supply chain.
