Italy white truffle season begins with major fairs and market activity

The white truffle season has officially commenced across several Italian regions, marked by the opening of major international and national fairs. In Pergola, the 29th International White Truffle Fair has begun, with early market reports indicating a high-quality harvest. Initial prices for the 2026 season are estimated between 2,000 and 3,500 euros per kilogram.

In Sant'Agata Feltria, the 42nd National White Truffle Fair opened with significant visitor turnout and over 160 stands. Similarly, the town of Colliano is preparing for its 29th National Truffle Market and Local Typical Products Exhibition, focusing on the Black Truffle of Colliano.

In the Piedmont region, authorities have launched a call for applications to provide over 300,000 euros in subsidies aimed at preserving productive truffle-bearing plants. This initiative supports the biodiversity and economic stability of areas like Langhe and Monferrato during the peak season, which includes 22 scheduled fairs through December.
