Marche region earthquake reconstruction reaches ten-year milestones

Ten years after the devastating 2016 earthquakes in the Marche region of Italy, reconstruction efforts continue across both public and private sectors.

Erap Marche has reported the implementation and maintenance of 1,943 Emergency Housing Solutions (SAE) across 28 municipalities. Of these, 1,698 are located in the province of Macerata, including 311 in Camerino. To manage these units, Erap Marche established a dedicated maintenance structure with a central hub in Ancona and decentralized facilities in Camerino and Arquata del Tronto to provide ongoing support to residents.

In San Severino Marche, the reconstruction process has seen significant progress. As of August 2026, out of 1,256 buildings declared uninhabitable, 1,008 reconstruction applications have been filed. Financial data indicates that over 40 million euros have been allocated for public works, while private reconstruction efforts have received approximately 481,965 euros for 782 interventions. Additionally, over 733,000 euros have been designated for the relocation of productive activities.
