Marche region health debate over dialysis centre relocation and RSA bed privatization

Piero Lacorazza, the PD group leader in the Marche Regional Council, issued a note on 5 August criticizing decree D.G. Massimo Defino n. 2024/00564 (31 Oct 2024) and a protocol with the ASP of Potenza that assigned the ASP management of the IRCCS CROB dialysis centre for twelve months. He described the move as an attempt to delocalise the centre despite the Regional Integrated Health Plan 2026‑2030, which calls for stability and strengthening of the facility, and highlighted ongoing integration efforts to address a shortage of nephrologists.

Maurizio Mangialardi, PD regional leader, warned that regional council deliberation n. 999 (4 Aug) could lead to the full privatisation of new residential‑care (RSA) beds in Marche. The decree raises authorised beds by 35% while shifting all costs to citizens, allowing private operators to set high fees without regional co‑funding. He called for clarification from assessor Calcinaro and for the pending regional demand plan to ensure appropriate allocation of beds.
