Italy celebrates new theater seasons and UNESCO heritage recognition
Various Italian regions are launching new theatrical seasons and celebrating cultural milestones. In the Marche region, several historic theaters, including Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi, Teatro Feronia in San Severino Marche, and Teatro Annibal Caro in Civitanova Alta, are participating in the first ‘Giornata dei Teatri Storici delle Marche’. This initiative follows the UNESCO recognition of the ‘Sistema dei teatri condominiali all’italiana’ as a World Heritage site, which includes several Marchean venues such as Teatro Ventidio Basso in Ascoli Piceno.
Other regional cultural activities include the launch of the 2026-2027 prose and dance season at Teatro Tonio Dei in Lanusei, Sardinia, and the Classemista season at Teatro D’Andrea in Pratola Peligna. In Catania, the LuMi Production is presenting five comedies at Teatro Don Bosco, while Caserta’s Teatro Comunale Costantino Parravano will open its season with Eduardo De Filippo’s ‘Non ti pago’ starring Salvo Ficarra. Additionally, Monte San Giusto is hosting the 22nd Clown&Clown Festival, and Brescia is preparing for the 17th edition of the ‘Musica Da Bere’ music contest.
