Marche region shows high integration between tourism and artisanal sectors
Data from Confartigianato reveals that 19.3% of artisanal businesses in the Marche region operate in sectors directly linked to tourism demand. This figure places the region fifth in Italy, exceeding the national average of 16.7%.
These artisanal activities benefit from tourist flows through sectors such as catering, agri-food, fashion, personal services, and artistic manufacturing. The report highlights a strong integration between manufacturing, services, and tourism.
Nationally, Italian tourism continues to grow, with accommodation facilities recording 71.6 million presences in the first quarter of 2026, a 7.5% increase compared to 2025. International tourists accounted for 54.6% of these visits. In 2023, tourist consumption outside of accommodation reached 101.7 billion euros, while international tourist spending reached 57.3 billion euros in the twelve months ending April 2026.
