La Laguna awards 25 million euro residential project in El Cardonal

The City Council of La Laguna, through its municipal housing company MUVISA, has awarded the contracts for the El Cardonal Programmed Residential Rehabilitation Environment (ERRP). This project is recognized as the largest residential rehabilitation operation in the Canary Islands.

The initiative involves the comprehensive rehabilitation of 49 residential blocks and 438 homes, alongside urban regeneration of the surrounding area. The works aim to improve energy efficiency, update installations, perform structural repairs, remove asbestos, and replace carpentry to enhance habitability and safety.

The total budget for the project is approximately 25 million euros, funded by Next Generation EU, the Cabildo de Tenerife, and the La Laguna City Council. The execution of the works, which cost roughly 18.6 million euros, has been divided into five lots. Construplan (Construcciones y Planificación S. L. U.) was awarded the first four lots for building rehabilitation, while Probisa Vías y Obras S. L. U. was awarded the fifth lot for urban regeneration.
