Marchesana: Young man in critical condition after scooter collision

A young man is in critical condition following a violent road accident on the Marchesana seafront. The victim was struck by a scooter and subsequently underwent emergency surgery at a hospital in Messina. He remains in a medically induced coma with a reserved prognosis due to the severity of his injuries.

The driver of the scooter also sustained serious injuries but is not reported to be in life-threatening condition.
