Marco Antonio Galarza to debut migration-themed art exhibition in Durango

Artist Marco Antonio Galarza Domínguez will inaugurate his exhibition, “Morir en el intento: en busca del ‘Sueño Americano’” (Dying in the attempt: in search of the ‘American Dream’), on August 27 at the Biblioteca Central Pública José Ignacio Gallegos Caballero in Durango.

The exhibition uses various artistic techniques to explore the human and reflective aspects of migration. Galarza Domínguez’s work examines the motivations behind migration, such as economic conditions, lack of security, and the search for better opportunities, while acknowledging the risks and lives lost during the journey. The collection also features an autobiographical component, drawing from the artist's own experience emigrating to the United States at age 17.
