Fenerbahçe player Marco Asensio to undergo knee surgery

Fenerbahçe officials have confirmed that Spanish footballer Marco Asensio will undergo surgery next week following the discovery of a cartilage lesion behind his kneecap. Club doctor Ahmet Kulduk stated that while previous injuries were managed through rehabilitation, recent MRI scans necessitated surgical intervention. The decision was made after consulting with specialists in both Turkey and Spain.

Fenerbahçe Football Director Oğuz Çetin addressed recent rumors regarding tension between Asensio and head coach İsmail Kartal, dismissing them as attempts to create chaos within the team. Çetin emphasized that the squad maintains a strong sense of unity and commitment to the club's goals under President Aziz Yıldırım. The injury has caused Asensio to miss several recent matches, including fixtures against Aston Villa and Alanyaspor.
