Marco Bellocchio films Sergio Marchionne biopic “Falcon”

Director Marco Bellocchio is currently filming “Falcon” in Toronto, a biographical film centered on the life and career of the late Italian-Canadian manager Sergio Marchionne. The film aims to depict Marchionne’s efforts to rescue Fiat from the brink of failure, blending financial thriller elements with psychological introspection.

Pierfrancesco Favino stars as Marchionne, while Louis Garrel portrays John Elkann, the heir to the Agnelli dynasty. The narrative is expected to cover pivotal moments in automotive history, including Marchionne’s leadership during the 2009 Chrysler bankruptcy and his role in merging the two companies to create a major global vehicle producer.

The production is a collaboration between Kavac Film, Emotion Network, and Rai Cinema, in partnership with STLA Europe. The cast also includes Benedetta Cimatti, Barbara Ronchi, and a cameo by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
