Marco Bezzecchi out of German MotoGP after broken collarbone

Marco Bezzecchi crashed in Q2 of the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, losing control of his Aprilia and suffering a high‑speed high‑side. Medical examinations confirmed a complete, displaced fracture of his left collarbone. He was taken to the circuit medical centre and, under the supervision of MotoGP Medical Director Dr. Angel Charte, was ruled out of the sprint race and the main Grand Prix. Aprilia announced that he will return to Italy for immediate surgery by orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini.

Bezzecchi, who was second in the championship standings only seven points behind teammate Jorge Martín, will miss a crucial weekend, allowing Martín to extend his lead. The qualifying session was otherwise dominated by Ducati, with Marc Marquez taking pole and setting a new lap record. The incident adds a significant setback to Bezzecchi’s title challenge.
