Marco Bezzecchi Disqualified After Slapping Marshal at Czech GP

Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi was disqualified from the Czech Grand Prix in Brno after a post‑sprint incident in which he pushed a track marshal who had unintentionally engaged his bike’s accelerator and then slapped the official. The FIM stewards deemed the aggression a serious breach of safety standards and upheld the penalty, preventing him from starting the main race.

Aprilia Racing condemned the behaviour, stating that “aggression toward a marshal is unacceptable” and reaffirmed its zero‑tolerance policy. Team chief Massimo Rivola acknowledged the incident, accepted the sanction and noted that the rider had initially provided an incomplete account. Bezzecchi issued a public apology, visited the marshal to apologize in person, and pledged to respect safety personnel in the future. The episode revived references to a similar 2023 altercation involving Aleix Espargaró and Franco Morbidelli.
