Ai Ogura's maiden MotoGP win and Bezzecchi crash at Assen

Japanese rider Ai Ogura secured his first MotoGP victory at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, finishing more than two seconds ahead of teammate Raúl Fernández. Jorge Martín, who started from pole, completed the podium in third place and retook the world‑championship lead, with Bezzecchi seven points behind.

Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi suffered a high‑speed crash on lap 3, was taken to the Groningen hospital for examinations and was later released. Aprilia confirmed that “Marco Bezzecchi passed scans and X‑rays and no injury was found” and that he could leave the hospital the same evening.

The incident ended Bezzecchi’s streak of three races without points, dropping him from the championship lead to second place. Other notable results included Filip Salač finishing eighth in Moto2 and extending his contract with American Racing, and Marc Márquez finishing seventh after a difficult weekend.

Overall, Aprilia dominated the weekend, with four of its bikes on the front row in qualifying and a 1‑2 finish in the sprint race for its satellite Trackhouse team.
