Marco Bezzecchi Walks Away Uninjured After High‑Speed Crash at Assen MotoGP, Loses Championship Lead

Italian MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi suffered a dramatic crash at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, losing the front of his Aprilia at about 200 km/h on the fast Turn 15. He was thrown into the gravel, hit the wall and, despite the impact, was able to stand and walk to the ambulance with the help of marshals.

Medical staff transferred him to a hospital in Groningen for neck examinations. Scans revealed no fractures or neurological injury, and he was discharged the same evening. The accident cost him the world‑championship lead, which passed to teammate Jorge Martin, leaving Bezzecchi nine points behind as the season moves to the next round. He emphasized that his priority is recovery and returning to race form, while Aprilia secured a podium lockout at the event.
