Marco Bezzecchi undergoes successful collarbone surgery, aims for Silverstone return

Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi suffered a displaced fracture of his left clavicle after a high‑side crash in qualifying for the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring. He was immediately flown to Italy where Dr Giuseppe Porcellini performed surgery at the University Hospital of Sassuolo, reducing and stabilising the fracture.

Aprilia confirmed the operation was a success and said the rider will begin a rehabilitation programme during the four‑month summer break. While the exact recovery timeline remains uncertain, the team expressed optimism that Bezzecchi could be fit for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, scheduled for the weekend of 7‑9 August.

The injury comes after a poor run of results – only 13 points from the last four races – which has dropped the 27‑year‑old to fourth in the championship standings. Team manager Paolo Bonora and teammate Jorge Martín have voiced support, emphasizing the benefit of the summer pause for a full comeback.
